Our Story

At the heart of THE AMPLIFY APP is a simple yet profound belief: every believer has a story to tell, and every story has the power to change lives. Inspired by Revelation 12:11—“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony”—we set out to create a movement that harnesses the transformative power of personal testimonies to spread the good news of Jesus Christ across the globe.

Beginnings

Our journey began in 2016, when Lane McPherson, Chris Lewis, and a few others gathered to talk about the importance of sharing personal testimonies. They recognized that these stories—of salvation, spiritual breakthroughs, or quiet moments of profound faith—held the power to inspire and connect people to God’s love. In the middle of that conversation, one of the founders’ sons blurted out, “You should make an app for that!” That spark of youthful insight ignited a vision, and the years-long journey to design THE AMPLIFY APP was born.

What started as a casual discussion evolved into a mission: to create an app that allows and encourages people to share their personal testimonies—whether it’s the moment they found salvation or another spiritual event that left an indelible mark on their lives. Founded by Rev12, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in Christian values, AMPLIFY is more than just an app—it’s a movement to ignite faith, build community, and push back the darkness.

We believe that your story, no matter how simple or dramatic, is a living testament to God’s love and grace. As the man healed by Jesus said in John 9:25, “One thing I do know; I was blind but now I see.”

In an age where technology connects billions through smartphones, we saw an unprecedented opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) in a new way—by bringing the mission field to every person’s digital backyard.

AMPLIFY empowers storytelling, amplifies reach, and fosters a global community of encouragement and hope. With over six billion smartphones in use worldwide, we’re leveraging technology to carry these stories across streets and continents, touching hearts we may never meet.

Why “Amplify”? The name reminds us of God’s promises and the power of remembrance—just as the tassels (tzitzit) in Numbers 15:37-41 called the Israelites to recall His commandments, we aim to amplify what He has done in our lives. From the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment to the countless lives He’s transforming today, every story points back to Him.
